Welcome to Georgia's Employer Workers' Compensation On-Line Insurance Verification. This new feature will enable the user to quickly see whether or not a business operating in the State of Georgia has workers' compensation insurance coverage.

Georgia requires most employers with three or more full time, part time or seasonal employees to have workers' compensation insurance. If the business is incorporated or a LLC, the corporate officers or members are included in the three or more employee count regardless of whether they exempt themselves from coverage.

Exceptions to coverage requirements include railroad carriers, U.S. Government agencies, farm laborers, and domestic servants.

The Enforcement Division is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and enforcement of the requirements which hold employers responsible for maintaining workers' compensation insurance coverage. An historical record of insurance coverage is maintain by this Division and is used to confirm the responsible insuring entity in the event of a work-related accident or injury.

***Coverage Information on businesses who are approved to be self-insured by the State Board of Workers' Compensation or businesses part of a group fund or association are now available on-line. ***If you feel the business you have checked is required to have Workers' Compensation insurance and no record of coverage can be located please contact the Enforcement Division at (404) 657-7285 or Toll Free at 1-(800) 743-5436. Any business found in non-compliance with required coverage requirements faces civil penalties of up to $5,000 per violation and a year in prison.
