Mediator

Mike Thorpe

Mr. Thorpe is a native of Atlanta and graduated from Emory University with both his BA degree in philosophy and his Juris Doctor degree. Before entering law school at Emory, he obtained much real-life experience, working for one year as an apprentice machinist, and then seven years in the life and health insurance business, primarily in sales. After graduating from Emory Law School in 1985, Mr. Thorpe served as a Senior Assistant District Attorney for Dekalb County for six years.  For almost 23 years, Mr. Thorpe practiced at a workers’ compensation insurance defense firm and also served for 14 years as a Gwinnett County “part time” Magistrate, handling overnight jail duty and night court hearings. Mr. Thorpe has over 35 years of extensive workers’ compensation experience—representing employers/insurers as well as employees/claimants. Mr. Thorpe can specially set your mediation through the ADR Division ([email protected]).
