Atlanta Special Set Fridays

The ADR section is delighted to announce that, effective March 17, 2006, the ADR section will have "Atlanta Special Set Fridays." Unlike our usual pre-scheduled mediation days, each month, the ADR section will designate Fridays in Atlanta as our special set days where, upon a first come first serve basis, the parties may contact the ADR section to schedule a mediation at their convenience.  The purpose behind these designated days is to expedite any case where the parties in a workers' compensation claim need a quick mediation. 

Additionally, a Settlement Examiner from the Settlement Division will be available to review and process those Stipulated Settlements that are mediated at the Board during each Special Set Friday.  Please remember to bring copies and envelopes, WC-1s, WC-4s, current medical reports and/or other supporting documentation with you to the mediation if you wish to take advantage of this opportunity.  Also, please do not forget to resolve/address any outstanding child support liens and attorney fee liens.  For a complete checklist of the requirements for Liability and No-Liability Stipulated Settlements, please see the Settlement Division's web page (located under Divisions and Offices) on the Board's website:  www.sbwc.georgia.gov.
